Many of the frames are vignetted, and the wooded setting allows for McHale to set his characters' moods with gray skies and looming trees. It's a powerful ending to one of the best Cartoon Network cartoons of all time. It's also sad as we are also saying goodbye to the characters we have fallen in love with. The ending, which reveals that the Unknown may have been All Just a Dream, although there's a touch of Or Was It a Dream? as well. Kids may not see the draw in this slow-paced adventure story, but older viewers will like the careful touches of classic folktales and artistic styles. Parents need to know that Over the Garden Wall is an animated fairy tale-style adventure series set in a magical forest filled with curious residents. The series centers on two half-brothers who travel across a mysterious forest to find their way home, encountering a variety of strange and fantastical things on their journey. But that wasnt a dream, they died, but they didnt went to heaven. But Wirt and Greg were alive in the end of the show, telling their friends about the dream they had. In the nineth episode of OTGW we find out that Wirt and Greg fell of the wall remaining unconscious and drowning. This did not mean that he was a villain, often helping the two boys. However, the Woodsman only chopped Edelwood trees as the Beast told him to so that his daughter's soul would stay lit in the Dark Lantern. This series has a very comforting yet eerie overtone, with lovable characters and a great sense of mystery. Over the Garden Wall is an amazing miniseries that EVERYONE should take a halloween night to watch.
